The Ilketshall Wensleydale flock was started in 2006 and has grown to 35 breeding ewes and several stud rams. Our sheep graze the parkland at home, with the best of them winning prizes at the Suffolk and Norfolk County Shows. We lamb our Wensleydale flock in April so that the lambs can benefit from their mother’s milk, spring grass and, hopefully, the warm sunshine. The ewes are prolific and good mothers. Our sheep are sheared in June and the fleeces are scoured, carded, spun and woven into a range of fabrics, ready to be made into the garments sold on this website. The stages of fabric production are gentle on the cloth in order to retain the natural beauty and lustre of the wool.
